April Walker is a legendary entrepreneur of urban fashion wear, producer of hip hop records albums, and well known in the Fashion/Music community. She also happens to be my neighbor! We live in the same building complex!  I wanted to honor her with a portrait.  This is the color study @ 22" x 30" done on watercolor paper mounted on masonite in acrylic and oils. The final portrait  will be 5’ x 7’ (60" x 84") on linen mounted over a wooden panel. Her dog "Dimes" had passed away at the time of this study, but was incorporated into the painting.
